Treeline & Tide creates botanical cyanotype jewelry inspired by plants, places, and the small details of the natural world you notice when you slow down.
A fern can remind you of walks through the woods. A strip of seaweed brings you back to the coast. Or sometimes it’s even simpler: you just love the beauty of a flower, a blade of grass, a seed head. My pieces are made to carry that connection with you.
Every piece begins with real botanicals arranged by hand on wood and exposed to sunlight using the historic cyanotype process. I gather and press the plants, arrange each composition, prepare the wood, and choose when to expose it. Then all the tiny irregularities I can't control join in to become part of the finished print: the intensity of the sun, the shape of the plant, the humidity of the day, the grain of the wood.
Rather than trying to erase those natural differences and variations, I preserve and honor them.
The result is a small, wearable record of something that existed in one form, one place, one moment. A walk in the woods, a day by the water, or a season you don't want to forget become something tangible: a small reminder you can keep close.
Lightweight enough for everyday wear. Noticeable, but not fussy. Made in small batches. Each piece is unique, making it as much a keepsake as a piece of jewelry meant to be worn, gifted, and lived with.
About the artist
I’m Jenn, the artist and maker behind Treeline & Tide, working out of a small studio in coastal Maine.
For more than a decade, I’ve been designing and making with wood, and have always been drawn to natural materials, simple forms, and objects that become part of everyday life.
Over time, my work has shifted toward the plants and textures that have always inspired it. Cyanotype brought my interests together in a way that immediately resonated. Instead of interpreting nature into a design, this process feels more like a conversation. It begins with the natural world and my hands, and carries on with you.
